Based in the newly refurbished Sneinton Market in the heart of Nottingham City Centre’s Creative Quarter, Pretty Windows has been open since 1997. We take children from the age of six weeks until they start school and also operate Breakfast Club, After-School Club and Holiday Club for children up to the age of fourteen.
Our site is very secure, with access through a locked gate onto our superb all-weather play area and inner-city garden. (There’s a buggy store if you need to leave a pushchair on site during your child’s stay.)
On each side of the nursery we have a reception area with coat pegs and storage and children‘s toilet facilities. On our main side is the kitchen where all of our food is freshly prepared each day, and on Side Two we have a bottle room and a nappy-changing room adjacent to the Baby Room. Notice boards and displays inform our parents and visitors about events and activities, and provide information such as menus, staff photos, etc.
Children are based in age- and development-appropriate, light and spacious ground floor rooms on either side of the playground, with large windows providing plenty of natural light and a view of the outside area for the children. Our Pre-School children are based on the first floor of Side Two of the nursery, and have their own separate creative room and toilet facilities. All of our rooms have a wide selection of self—select toys and designated areas for different activities, for example sand and water play, creative design, reading and home corners.
We provide lots of activities including Socatots, yoga, Forest School and regular trips and outings into the community to ensure that the children receive a varied and broad Early Years education and have a fun-filled time with us. Pretty Windows is a multi-cultural nursery, with children of many nationalities. This is a wonderful and varied environment where all of the children learn about each other’s customs and cultures.
